Overview
Conveniently located 1.5 km from Orgiva, in the Guadalfeo valley ,where the bogavia thrives and the crickets sing, we find this charming two-bedroom house.
The first thing that catches your eye is the exuberance of the gardens that surround the house with many exotic tropical plants and some native fruit trees such as olive, almond, orange and a beautiful loquat that grows in front of the porch of the house.
Next to the gate where you enter the finca, there is a parking space that is shared with the owner, then a short path through the verdant gardens leads you to your accommodation. Before reaching it, you see the house where the property owner lives, she is pleasant and discreet, always aware of the privacy that her guests desire.
The secluded swimming pool surrounded by lush vegetation is for private use and we can see Sierra Lújar and the southern slopes of Sierra Nevada on the horizon. This could undoubtedly be one of your favourite spots, alternatively taking dips and relaxing on the sun loungers.
The pool area can be gated when there are small children. From the pool there are points where the owner's house is visible, the terrace that we can be seen directly in front of the pool, remains closed and we consider the pool area is perfectly acceptable in terms of privacy.
We really liked the contrasting colours of the little casita's amber walls in contrast to the different greens of the vegetation that surround it. The porch next to the main entrance has a built-in bench as well as furniture for outdoor dining; this will undoubtedly be another intimate space where you choose to spend a lot of time.
Upon entering the interior of the house, we find a single open space for the living room-dining room-kitchen, not very large but well organized and decorated with good taste. It is certainly welcoming. The three spaces are distinguished, the sofa in front of the wood stove, the intimate dining area and the handy kitchen.
We found the interiors very pleasant and the bedrooms were inviting; the double bed is 1.50 meters. Although the accommodation is simple, it is stylish and pleasing and is properly equipped for four people. We would happily stay here to relax and unwind, whilst surrounded by nature.
The location is great for organizing day trips. The photogenic white villages of La Alpujarra and the beaches of the Costa Tropical are just half an hour's drive away. An hour away is monumental Granada. Here, you can visit the typical Arab neighbourhood of the Albaycin with its winding cobblestone streets, the mythical neighbourhood of Sacromonte or the emblematic Alhambra, three of the many beautiful and historical spots to enjoy in this magical city, famous for its culture and gastronomy, with the hallmark of good tapas.
Órgiva, the capital of the Alpujarra region (Granada) is only 1.5 km away, perhaps not entirely practical for walking, although almost! The character of Órgiva will surprise you due to its eclectic mix of cultures, a place that has attracted people from all over the globe while still preserving its Alpujarrean essence.
Location
Semi-tropical Andalucian river valley. Low Alpujarras region.
In countryside location, 1.5 kms from Orgiva Market town; the last 200 metres are on a rural track that is somewhat steep. All you need is an ordinary car.

YOUR REVIEWS
This is a really lovely, cosy cottage set in beautiful, lush gardens. It's compact and has everything that you could need with a variety of places to sit outside and relax."
+ Read moreThe property was lovely, very clean and comfortable. However, the access was challenging and on that basis I personally wouldn’t recommend the property."
Rustical Update
Following this review, we checked with the property owner, as two members of Rustical Travel had previously visited and didn’t find the track difficult. The owner confirmed the access remains the same, but advises guests to follow her directions, not Google Maps, which may suggest a more difficult alternative. We've also updated the property page to mention that the 200-metre track to the house is somewhat steep, though not unusually so compared to other country villas in Andalucia.
I almost don't want to tell you how wonderful this place is, as it feels like we discovered a very special secret hideaway, but... I have to say this is a fantastic place to stay. The best 'home from home' vibe you can imagine; everything you could want or need included; a great host who is friendly and helpful, and greets you with the loveliest selection of goodies; a garden that you can sit and admire for hours; a relaxing pool; comfortable beds, lots of little nooks around the property to sit in or out of the sun; the darkest of skies to see the stars... well I could go on but you get the picture. This property is the perfect place to relax and unwind and we can't wait to return."
