A good-looking finca located at an ideal distance from Andalucia´s major highlights: Granada, Cordoba, Malaga and Sevilla, while also settled in a peaceful spot for restful holidays. An unspoilt rural setting with unique panoramic views. Outdoor facilities are excellent, with different furnished terraces for each time of the day, a heated pool, a Weber barbecue. Overview
This is one of those hard-to-fault villas in our portfolio. We truly fell in love with it as soon as we arrived for the first time: a beautiful and friendly home, blessed with gorgeous countryside everywhere you look.
The property owners told us that it took them over 3 years to find just the right finca, and we trust them; we know just how hard it can be to find a perfect retreat that ticks all the boxes!
Their selection criteria is, in fact, similar to ours: a breathtaking and private spot, with a genuine feel to it, unspoilt views, an easy access that is not too far from a pretty town with good facilities... check, check, check.
What makes this location so special, besides the instinctive invitation to a laid-back lifestyle, is the fact that there is so much to do around. Everyday shopping and some good restaurants are only 10 minutes away and for proper days-out you need not go too far either. It takes merely 30 minutes to get to popular Malaga and its coast, while the historic town of Antequera, an undiscovered Andalusian treasure, is only a 20min drive away.
The house is very thoughtfully presented with a good attention to detail. It offers authentic country living with high standards and a pleasant cosy feel to it; bright and airy, with comfy beds, good quality linen and modern appliances (such as Nutribullet, a nutrient extractor for healthy shakes).
Outdoor living is just as satisfying; the tranquil setting invites you to simply rest and relax. There are furnished terraces for each time of the day. The one facing north is great during warm summer days, while the terrace next to the kitchen is practical for delicious al-fresco meals. There is also a south side terrace with outdoor lighting and a Weber barbecue for night-time feasts under a star-filled sky.
The pool is located slightly above the house and accessed via a short delightful walk among trees and nicely maintained bushes. It is a large, 10 metre pool which can also be heated on request during cooler weather to 28ºC (at an additional cost). The views from the pool are to die for; combine that with the feeling of being out in the open, yet still secluded from it all, just perfect.
The visual contrast between the cultivated fields growing on the flat lands and the craggy mountains of El Torcal at the backdrop is really quite stunning.
Access to the villa is via a short track that is straightforward, with the occasional bump, but not challenging. It is also for your own private use, except for an elderly Spanish couple that uses it on some weekends to get to their cottage (located out of sight and far from your private abode). Guests staying at this house can relax about their privacy being compromised.
Locals still maintain their traditional way of living, mostly earning it through agriculture. You will find that the people are laid-back and friendly; traits we believe partly come from the wealth of sunlight they get per year...

Location
Inland from Malaga; between the Montes de Malaga and Torcal Natural Parks. This is the unspoilt Antequera region.
Private location in open countrsyide but close to small hamlet. It is accessed via a short 100 metre long rural track. All you need is an ordinary car.
