Overview
Before visiting this house, our team was told that it was a successful holiday rental in Gaucin. An inexpensive option which works well for guests.
And yes, although we also found it fairly basic, we thought it was cosy, where you can enjoy outdoor living, barbecues and local life.
This is not a large finca but a modest village house with a convenient layout and everything you normally need on holidays.
The views from the house are stunning, and although there is another house next door from where a small part of the outdoor areas can be seen, you get some privacy here.
Families with small children should know that the pool isn't large but still takes a good part of the patio.
Even though the two doors that give access to the house are open to the main village street, we were told that not many people pass by anyway, and the wall between the property and the street keeps the outdoor areas private.
Gaucin is a great base for day trips. Historic Ronda, just 40 minutes away, is high on most people’s lists. Still, smaller places nearby – traditional villages such as Genalguacil or Jimena de la Frontera – are well worth visiting and stopping by for a meal. Gibraltar is an hour away, and the beaches of the Costa del Sol 30 minutes away.
For those keener on walking than driving, there is some great trekking around Gaucin.
