Overview
Our team had the pleasure of personally inspecting this exceptional 400-year-old holiday property, and the experience left us thoroughly impressed. From the moment we set foot on the grounds, it was evident that this villa surpassed our expectations, offering an unparalleled blend of natural beauty and luxurious comfort.
Situated in the captivating Penedes region, this area is renowned for its picturesque vineyards and winemaking heritage. But this particular spot surprised us with its untamed, unspoiled charm.
While the surroundings are breathtaking, what struck us, even more was the villa's strategic proximity to both the vibrant city of Barcelona and the serene Mediterranean Sea.
Beyond being a mere holiday rental, this property embodies a unique concept of natural luxury envisioned by its owner—a renowned chef with a repertoire of published culinary masterpieces. Their aspiration is to provide guests with an unforgettable Mediterranean retreat.
Perfect for leisurely strolls, moments of relaxation, and communion with nature, the villa is also a haven for food enthusiasts and wine connoisseurs. Nestled in one of Spain's foremost wine-making regions, the owner is eager to facilitate experiences ranging from culinary courses to wine tastings.
During our conversation with Sophie, the owner, she shared stories of the popularity of her culinary offerings, revealing that guests often find themselves immersed in cooking classes or preparing meals throughout their stay. The high rate of returning guests attests to the success of this immersive experience, while the optional services available further enhance the allure of this splendid holiday property.
While Sophie resides on an adjacent property with a separate entrance, her adeptness at preserving guests' privacy is evident. She remains available when needed, ensuring a discreet yet supportive presence on the estate.
Two distinctive features set this property apart from conventional holiday homes: the natural pool and the event room. The natural pool is a marvel, inviting guests to swim in crystal-clear water free from chemicals. The sophisticated, all-natural filtration system, coupled with regeneration areas adorned with plants, maintains the pool's pristine condition.
This is no ordinary pool; it is an organic swimming pond seamlessly integrated into the surrounding nature.
The event room is offered as an additional service at an extra cost and is an excellent space for wine tastings, requesting meals, or conducting culinary courses.
Although this estate is so wholesome that guests may find it difficult to leave, there are enticing options for day excursions. Whether exploring the cultural richness of Barcelona just over an hour away or basking in the sun on the Costa Dorada beaches, a mere 45-minute drive, the choices are varied.
Moreover, the charming village of Pontons, a quick two-kilometre drive, beckons with its picturesque charm and a delightful bar and restaurant—a gem we personally sampled and found to be truly delightful.

An amazing holiday! We went to stay at La Masia as two families, both with a 3 year old and a 6 year old. It was perfect, from the moment we got there till the moment we left. The area is stunning, from the terrace you look out across the valley and cant see another house just rolling hills, in the evening the sun sets are gorgeous and then being able to see the stars at night is beautiful. Its so quiet too, you get to really switch off. Sophie and Michael are wonderful hosts, generous and charming, around when you need them but never intrusive.

Sophie goes the extra mile for her guests and takes genuine pride in her work. The accommodation was charming, and we felt immediately at ease. We even explored the grounds with Sophie and her three wonderful dogs, delved into the history of the local culture, participated in a traditional cooking class showcasing the culinary treasures of the region, and indulged in one of the most memorable meals of our lives. I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again.
