Overview
It was a pleasant surprise for our team to find this beautiful property in the Guadalfeo Valley, in an area of farmhouses and scattered farms, next to the town of Órgiva.
The house nestles naturally into the surrounding environment. Far from the concept of a modern villa or a traditional rural house, this is a homelike country house, with a casual rustic style.
It is decorated with tasteful artisan elements; the interiors invite you to, perhaps, read a book, listen to music and to relax. The kitchen is an inspirational place to cook, with its array of modern and useful equipment, making it a thoughtful and practical space when accommodating 6 people.
Here you are surrounded by orange and lemon trees, orchards and olive trees which are hundreds of years old. The backdrop is the imposing Sierra Nevada mountains.
Next to the entrance of the house and quite close to the kitchen, there is a delightful veranda with an outdoor dining room, equipped with a barbecue and a basic kitchen.
There are many nooks and crannies in which to relax and you will always find a shady spot to eat together al fresco.
For outdoor living you will find the layout quite comfortable with everything close at hand; the pool is a few steps below the house.
Some of the outdoor areas have unprotected spaces such as the stairs from the pool to the house, so this may not be ideal for small children. In general, it is a property which is open and not fenced on most sides and it is possible that a neighbour dog or cat may visit guests (outdoor areas). If so, we were told by the property owner that they were friendly and they should certainly not be fed.
There is a gate at the main entrance to the property where cars can be parked safely.
In one of the lower terraces of the estate, in a wooded area away from the villa and with its own entrance and perimeter, the property owner has a wooden cabin which may occasionally use but does not compromise privacy from guests.
This accommodation is located about 2 km from Órgiva (capital of this Alpujarra region). We will not venture to say that the town can be easily accessed on foot; however, about 5 minutes by car will be enough to reach some very decent restaurants, as well as tapas bars, supermarkets and other services typical of such a town of Las Alpujarras. The property owner confirmed that the walk from the house to Orgiva town takes about 25 minutes.
This location is also a magnet for those who want to combine sea and mountains, as both are about 30 minutes away, the irresistible Costa Tropical and the picturesque Alta Alpujarra.
The magic of Granada and its majestic Alhambra are about 40-45 minutes away.
Location
Subtropical gardens in river valley outside market town. Low Alpujarras region.
In private grounds just 2 km from Orgiva town (all facilities). Access via a rural track of about 1 km.

Incredible stay. An oasis of peace with breathtaking views. It is a privilege to wake up here every morning and be treated with such stunning 360° views of which you just can’t get enough! Lovely pool and gardens. House is well equipped and easy accessible."
+ Read moreThe overall description of the property is accurate and the pool area was lovely .. The pool was kept clean although the pool seating , especially the tables needs replacing . We did however have some problems with maintenance. Kitchen . The fridge freezer was in a poor state . The ice maker didn’t work and the water dispenser had a serious leak causing a constant pool of water on the floor . A number of self units in the fridge door were missing . Washing machine : leaking . Repair man did come to look at it but said it needed replacing . Broken corkscrew and only five assorted wine glasses on arrival . Outdoor kitchen area in need of a good clean . No outdoor lights working at front entrance to the property . Several empty light sockets in house . Lack of curtain at one window in small bedroom . The owner sent good instructions to us to find the property but was in the U.K. at the time of our visit . A friend who showed us round the property didn’t seem to know the house very well so we were left not knowing how some things worked ! The description of the access is misleading . It gives the impression that it is only a short distance from a made up road , whereas it was a good two kilometres not the 50 metres mentioned . Unfortunately Orgiva was a disappointment , very rundown and little to recommend it . All in all we had a really enjoyable holiday but feel that maintenance needs to be looked at ."
Rustical Update
Following up on this feedback, the owners confirm that several improvements are already planned or underway to ensure future guests enjoy the property in the best possible conditions. The pool tables will be replaced, and the fridge and washing machine issues are being addressed. The outdoor kitchen will be refreshed, and the outdoor lights are now fully operational—the issue was simply a switch, which would have been easily resolved had it been reported during the stay. Spare bulbs are always available in the house for guests, and the owners are happy to provide support by phone for any needs. A solution for the small bedroom window is also being considered. The owners remain committed to maintaining the property and ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay for future guests.
