In an intimate tree-covered location, not far from the Mediterranean Sea and on the earliest wrinkles of Ronda mountains, we find this discreet but irresistible little estate. From here, we can see the sea, Gibraltar and Morocco on clear days. It is a property ideal for couples that offers a truly romantic ambience, perfectly integrated into the natural environment; what's also exciting is that the beautiful village of Gaucín, with all its facilities, is only 1 km away. Overview
During our visit to this property, we were not surprised to learn that it had been featured in a country home magazine.
The location is truly idyllic and peaceful with impressive views.
The way this property was built respects the existing mature carob trees on the estate and tries to be as discreet as possible by fully integrating the house into its unspoilt surroundings. Although originally planned to be a home, it is now offered to couples or small families with children older than 12 as a wonderful retreat.
Inside the layout is very attractive. On the upper level is the spacious dining/kitchen area as well as an inviting lounge, both offering large windows which enjoy the stunning scenery throughout the day. On this level, there is also a double-bedded room with en-suite facilities. You can easily walk from the bedroom and the main dining area onto the furnished terraces.
The other bedroom and bathroom are on a lower level and also have access to the lower terrace and gardens.
This is a Moroccan-style home and the decoration, the lighting and particular features throughout make this house cosy and welcoming.
The gardens distributed on different levels surrounding the house are well established with mature local trees, together with bushes and flowers which grow well in this climate. They don't demand a lot of water which is a precious resource in these hills.
The views deserve a description. They are beautiful in almost every direction. The Crestellina craggy ridge rises up in front of you on the horizon. To the west, the Eagle Castle from Gaucin, set on the top of another ridge is lit at night time, another element that gives ambience to romantic evenings.
Further in the distance on clear days it is very easy to distinguish the Gibraltar Rock and Morocco as well as boats scattered on the shimmering Mediterranean sea.
The little popular whitewashed village of Gaucin is 1 km away, so strolling to the village for a walk or to have tapas or a proper dinner at one of its many restaurants is absolutely desirable.
The sea is just over a 30-minute drive, and the closest beaches are great!
The majestic Ronda town is a must and is 45 minutes away.

We cooked a fair bit but also pottered up the lane to eat in Gaucin too (super little town and would highly recommend a walk up to the castle for more spectacular views). Having booked our stay in the knowledge the house didn’t have air con, I was a bit worried about whether we’d cope in the August heat but it wasn’t an issue. I honestly couldn’t find a negative if I tried and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The arrival / departure at the property was straightforward and Antonia was lovely and welcoming. We did lots of cooking in the very well equipped kitchen and from both tiers of the garden we enjoyed the stunning views over the mountains to Gibraltar Morocco. A great little library of books to borrow and read in any of the many seating areas or by the lovely pool and Antonio was very helpful if ever needed. As mentioned by others the rough track to the property (and a few other properties nearby) does not allow for easy passing if you meet another car - someone would be forced into some tricky reversing but we walked into Gaucin easily enough in the evenings (not sure elderly would manage well). All in all a wonderful two weeks in a beautiful house in a lovely part of the world, we would certainly come back!"

+ Read moreThis is a lovely authentic Spanish house, beautifully decorated and very isolated,it is on different levels so anyone with mobility problems would struggle! We did feel the track down to the house is extremely dark at night and if you meet a car coming the other way its dodgy as it is a single track and not many places to pass. We did have a few issues during our stay but Antonia dealt with them the best she could, so hopefully one of the problems has now been resolved! The pool and views were amazing and peaceful, Gaucin is a lovely village and we wouldent hesitate to come back and Rustical travel were extremely informative with directions, eating places, and places to visit etc.. so would book with them again! Could not work out how to use the sound system or the TV (no instructions) and the information pack needs to be updated. I also think they should have a bluetooth enabled sound system and better glassware and crockery (many chipped). A teapot would also be nice. Great holiday in a super casa close to a lovely town/ village."
