Overview
Surrounded by 43 hectares of avocados belonging to the estate, this homely Spanish villa is a gem waiting to be found, its delightfully rustic character shaped by traditional elements such as the wooden beams and traditional beamed ceilings, terracotta flooring throughout and tastefully coloured walls. The level of privacy and seclusion adds to the sense of serenity here, inviting guests to fully connect with the vibrant Andalucian nature.
If we had to provide basic must-follow instructions for this house, these would simply be: unwind, swim, sunbathe, enjoy, disconnect, wake up to a stunner of a view, repeat.
Cypress-flanked and just a few steps down from the house, its irresistible pool awaits in complete privacy for swimming and sunbathing without being overlooked. It's a good size for proper swims and it is very inviting: from the moment you set foot in the pool area you instantly picture yourself leaning on the edge and indulging in the uninterrupted views down this gorgeous valley.
Most of the property is arranged on one floor, except for the top bedroom and the steps down to the pool, which should be borne in mind by people with reduced mobility. Although the pool is not gated as such, a wire fence is in place and can be used to keep children away from the pool area.
Inside the house has a good level of comfort, with ample spaces and attractive bedrooms, three of them on the ground floor:
The master bedroom has en suite facilities and is clearly our favourite, with French windows opening to its own pretty corner terrace shaded by mature bougainvillea. What a spot!
Back on the ground floor, the living area is, just like the rest of the house, an example of understated class: decorated with good taste, it opens to the main furnished terrace along the front of the house. Not quite what we would call top luxury, yet definitely a choice we would recommend to those expecting high quality standards and comfort combined with charming traditional touches and country living style.
Fully equipped for self-catering for up to 8 guests, the kitchen leads off to a shaded terrace provided with a set of built-in benches and table: al fresco meals here are a delight.
Both indoor and outdoor living here offer great levels of comfort. Families with children will also enjoy the 43 hectares of endless grounds just for them to explore.
Wild lavender grows around the house, the Guadiaro river dominates the view down this gorgeous valley and sunsets from the villa are simply inspiring and memorable.
Location
In a very large finca of avocados, overlooking the beautiful river bed and valley of Guadiaro with Crestallina mountains opposite, on the early folds of Ronda mountains.
In total privacy, accessed by 3 km track in good condition from the road that links Gaucin and the coast. Only a short part of it is a bit steep but perfectly manageable with an ordinary car.

YOUR REVIEWS
We had a superb week at this beautiful property. The house itself is delightful, well laid out and comfortable. The view across the valley is spectacular, enjoyed from the terrace having drinks, or from the 25 metre pool. The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. Guacin itself is charming and only a 15min drive away. I went on this holiday with my wife and two daughters and everyone wants to go back! I would highly recommend it."
+ Read moreWe had a lovely holiday here. We definitely enjoyed the spaciousness, the outside spaces, the pool and the surprising absence of mosquitoes! We also love this part of Spain. However, as repeat guests of Rustical Travel, we did not think that the villa justified the high price. Despite being not far in miles from the main road, the long dirt track adds to the journey time and made morning visits to the bakery for fresh bread (which we usually enjoy in Spain) impracticable. The upstairs room is actually an attic room, made up of foldaway beds, gets very hot, and we had to move furniture ourselves to make it comfortable. The fan in this room is very low - so watch your head! In fact 3 of the fans were turning the wrong way, so blew cold air upwards rather than downwards (we rectified this ourselves). The kitchen had a sewerage smell which wasn't really solved with sink or dishwasher cleaner. We couldn't find any main bins so took our rubbish with us on our visits to local towns! The bedside lights had burn holes in the shades so we didn't use them. The main door handle fell off. All in all, although we are happy to accept 'rustic', the property didn't fulfil the expectations of the price. Rustical Travel said they would contact us about this on our return, but did not."
Rustical Update
The property manager informed us that the main door handle and the burned bedside lights have been fixed. They are also going to contain the odour of the dishwasher with a specific air freshener for this. There are no rubbish bins in the area, the rubbish can be taken to the nearest collection point which may be the village of Gaucin.
We spent a magical two weeks at RD79. From the warm and friendly welcome from the owner to the truly magnificent view from the terrace. Breathtakingly gorgeous. From the pristine pool to the crispy linen sheets. Fabulous. We spent many hours having lazy lunches, cocktails on the comfy sofas and very many happy memories and laughter around the pool. The place is huge! We were a party of six for four days and there was sufficient of everything for everyone. Quiet spaces included. Booking and service from Rustical Travel were exemplary. And the 'find us' details a breeze. Would highly recommend this villa. Stunning."

+ Read moreThe property was very much as depicted - lovely decoration grounds. The major drawback was lack of AC which made sleeping very difficult. Otherwise - wonderful!"
Rustical Update
August 2015 had the highest temperatures ever recorded. There is normally a lovely breeze from the sea at night in Summer time.
The location and views from this villa were even more stunning than the photos on the Rustica site indicated. The villa is very spacious with good bathroom facilities, comfortable beds and plenty of outdoor seating. The central heating system worked well. The swimming pool was immaculately maintained by the visiting gardener. Not so good were the electrics. My wife almost got a shock from one of the lampshades. Quite a few of the light fittings had missing or burnt out bulbs. The wi-fi was almost non-existent, working only for a few mintes at a time before packing up yet again. The owner sent someone out to fix the wi-fi and after her visit it worked for a couple of hours (giving us time to catch up on our email) but then packed up again. It would be more honest in the description of the property to state 'limited wi-fi' or 'intermittent wi-fi'. For anyone wanting to get away from it all, the villa was perfect. Just don't expect to be able to stay in contact with the rest of the world while you are there!"
Rustical Update
We were informed that light fittings were fixed and new WiFi installed.
