Summary
This vintage Catalan farmhouse is a part of a huge estate located in the mountains of the protected natural area of Montnegre, next to the Mediterranean Sea. This is a great property for groups who wish to enjoy the outdoors to the full and there are some lovely walks just on your doorstep. Although the location feels wonderfully wild and disconnected, you enjoy easy access to the villa, and there are villages with services less than 10 minutes away. Sleeps 16 people

Overview
At Rustical Travel, although we were aware of the existence of a protected natural area between the impressive Montseny mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, this being the Montnegre Natural Park; it was not until we visited this accommodation for the first time in 2022, that we got to know this impressive abundance of nature next to the Costa Brava and the Maresme.
The accommodation that we offer here is a historic farmhouse, located in the heart of this Natural Park. Here you have exclusive use of some fabulous facilities, in a setting surrounded by forest and just 15 km from the sea.
The climate here is remarkably Mediterranean, with the sea just 8 km away as the crow flies. The dense forests of pine and many varieties of oak, together with the proximity of the sea, helps in achieving comfortable temperatures all year round.
This property will fulfil many of your holiday expectations! You can have fun in a group, eating together, playing paddle tennis or maybe a soccer game. Equally, you can relax by lounging around the beautiful pool or simply enjoying a pretty walk from your doorstep.
The property sitters, although they do not live on the finca, come regularly to keep the property in good condition, They respect your privacy, and they also take care of the organic market garden and an open farmyard.
During our visit to this property, we saw some turkeys, 2 lovely dwarf goats and some pheasants in a separate open farmyard. Until fairly recently, this was an estate with agriculture and livestock. Now, everything is maintained with the intention of keeping the origins of this historic farm alive, but has been reduced to something more symbolic in order to enhance your rural holiday experience. Upon arrival, as a courtesy to customers, you will be offered eggs or other products from the land.
Once inside, this 300 m2 house is divided mainly into three floors.
Original features and elements along with some interesting antiques have been kept to keep the traditional essence of the house alive. However, there are also modern touches and tasteful contemporary elements such as renovated bathrooms and large beds to ensure comfort.
There is one bedroom with en-suite facilities, but there are 5 further shared bathrooms.
The main living area on the first floor is a very attractive space, with its many wonderful windows offering lovely views of this truly special wooded location.
During our visit we were excited to hear that the owners had various plans to enhance this already superb property in order to make it a vacation paradise! In 2022 a new games room was underway.
This terrific setting is less than one hour from Barcelona and 30 minutes from the historic city of Girona. Nature lovers may not only enjoy the Natural Park where this property is set, but also the impressive nearby Montseny mountains.
Ample fun and enjoyment to be had for all types of guests... and a beautiful spot for everybody's holiday!

We had a great holiday at this property. The outdoor facilities are excellent. The pool, paddle tennis court, football pitch and bbq area were the highlights for us. The house is in a quiet, remote location so a car is essential. The inside of the house is definitely rustic and a little quirky. The bedrooms and bathroom are light and airy. The downstairs rooms are more traditional. The air conditioning worked well. There are 2 cookers in the kitchen with 2 ovens but we could only get 1 oven to work so cooking was slow. The poolside toilet was out of order for the duration of our visit and there were only 5 functioning Sun loungers for 11 of us. A few of the bathroom doors had dodgy locks - handles were loose and often fell off. Pool towels are old and hard and euros are needed for the pool and football tables. However, none of these factors spoiled our stay and we were very sad when it was time for us to leave. Our host Juanfran was very pleasant and responded quickly to our queries via WhatsApp and the service from Rustical travel was excellent. I would highly recommend Rustical Travel and this property if you are looking to stay in a traditional Spanish style house."
