The house itself is not a luxury villa, but it certainly has plenty to offer. Its original 19th-century features give it a distinct old-world charm, with rustic elements that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The property has plenty of character, making it feel more like a family home than a rental. While you may not find a sleek kitchen or perfectly matched tableware, the house provides everything you need for a comfortable stay. We felt we would love to stay here ourselves.
One of the standout features of this property is the games room, which is equipped with table tennis and foosball and is perfect for family fun.
Outside, the spacious grounds offer plenty of space for children to play, including a football goal for some impromptu matches. The private garden adds to the sense of tranquillity and seclusion, allowing guests to unwind fully.
Another highlight is the 10-meter saltwater-filtered fenced pool, which offers a refreshing place to relax after a day of exploring. It’s a great spot for both kids and adults to enjoy and also ideal for those sensitive to chlorine.
All the bedrooms come with en-suite facilities, offering both comfort and convenience. The hospitality of Galicia shines through, from local bakeries serving up delicious empanadas to the opportunity to get fresh milk from nearby farmers.
Adding to the charm, the villa owners live nearby and have a lovely farm that families with children often love to visit. It’s a delightful experience for kids to see the animals up close, and the owners are always happy to share their passion for rural life.
The area also has a wealth of country restaurants, ensuring you’re never far from a hearty meal.
Betanzos, one of our favourite cities, is 30 minutes drive away. Known for making the best tortillas in Galicia, this well-preserved city is a must-visit for anyone interested in authentic Galician culture. It’s the perfect way to experience local life without the overwhelm of mass tourism.
The house and its grounds offer plenty of opportunities to relax and play, making it an ideal choice for families or groups looking to experience the best of rural Galicia.
