Notes on facilities

The outdoor hot tub is heated with firewood. The special cover can keep the water warm for hours or even days.

The owner provides a reasonable amount of firewood (1/4 cubic meter) ordinarily sufficient for your stay.  

There is no TV.

Notes on layout/sleeping arrangements

The lofts in both bedrooms have a mattress and are more suitable for children, but the steps to the loft are steep, so it is probably best for children older than 6 years old.

While WiFi is available, mobile coverage is minimal, and there's no TV to distract you from the tranquillity surrounding you. Instead, welcome the simplicity of board games and the irresistible charm of an outdoor hot tub heated by the satisfying task of chopping wood with an axe.

Families seeking a getaway will find much to love here, though those with small children may need to exercise caution due to the terrain. However, during our visit, we found the grounds devoid of significant drops for little ones.

Despite its unassuming appearance, the property radiates a subtle luxury that enhances the overall experience. Comfortable mattresses and underfloor heating ensure a restful stay, while the well-insulated house offers respite from the elements without sacrificing the breathtaking views surrounding it.

Designed to harmonize with the natural landscape, the house features massive glass panels that invite the outside in, allowing guests to bask in the beauty of their surroundings from every angle.

Venture beyond the property, and you'll discover the enchanting Pasiegos valleys, where time seems to stand still amidst a tapestry of diverse landscapes and cultures.

While the nearest village is a 12-minute drive away and offers modest dining options and a basic supermarket, the real highlight is at least one local bar in this village (San Roque), where we had some of the best deep-fried calamari we've ever tasted!

Despite its remote feel, day trips to the sea, Santander, or the Cabárceno Wildlife Park are easily within reach, ensuring that adventure is never far away. However, if relaxation is your goal, there's no better place to be than at your cottage, surrounded by towering beech woods, majestic chestnut trees, and the occasional glimpse of grazing sheep and cows.

Welcome to the Valles Pasiegos—a haven where the beauty of Spain's landscapes rivals that of far-flung destinations like the Scottish Highlands or Canada.

The property is absolutely beautiful and was the most wonderfully peaceful and comfortable place to stay. Laura was so helpful before we even arrived and Lewis greeted us once we got there to show us around and give helpful tips.
